EMERGENCY
SERVICES DAY RETURNS for 2026!

Free family event
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this free, family-friendly event from 10am to 4pm. It was a fantastic day filled with action, hands-on activities and fascinating insights into the work of our emergency services.
Visitors had the opportunity to get up close to around 50 emergency service vehicles, enjoy live demonstrations and explore interactive displays showcasing the skills, equipment and dedication required to keep our region safe every day.
Held on Car Parks 10 & 11 outside The Great Hall, the event brought together teams from more than 50 organisations, including Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, Greater Manchester Police, the British Army, RNLI and many others. From cutting-edge equipment to vintage vehicles, there was plenty to discover, offering a unique insight into how the emergency services have evolved over the years.
A huge thank you to all the organisations that took part and to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

MEET FIREMAN SAM AND CHASE & MARSHALL FROM PAW PATROL
There was loads for families to enjoy too, with appearances from Fireman Sam PLUS Chase and Marshall from PAW Patrol, free face painting, and live performances from local choirs throughout the day. A brilliant day out for all ages – and a great way to say thank you to the everyday heroes in our community.
