We’re excited to announce we’ll be extending our partnership with the Fountain Fund charity partnerships, providing an extra year of support following the pandemic.
St Ann’s Hospice, JDRF and MedEquip4Kids will benefit from an additional year of much-needed donations and support.
Since The Trafford Centre opened in 1998, £1.5million has been collected from coins dropped in the centre’s spectacular fountains. Every single coin generously dropped into the water by shoppers is washed, cleaned, and then donated to three local nominated charities.
The Trafford Centre has now announced plans to extend its partnership with the three charities, providing an extra year of support following the pandemic.
Our fountain charities
St Ann’s Hospice, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and MedEquip4Kids were chosen as recipients of the centre’s Fountain Fund for 2020 – 2021, as voted for by more than 17,000 visitors.
The three charities will continue to receive a share of the fountain funds until December 2022, as well as working closely alongside the centre on fundraising and awareness-raising campaigns.
Zoe Inman, Centre Director, said: “Following more than a year of lockdowns and a challenging time for the charity sector, it was only right for us to extend our partnerships with these three, fantastic charities. Another year of donations will make such a huge difference and support the fantastic work they do in the local area.”
All of our Fountain Fund charities are doing amazing work in their community, so if you’re looking to make a donation to a good cause, here’s how you can help them during these times:
