The John Lewis advert has dropped, which means the most wonderful time of the year is finally upon us! For us, this means we can’t wait to get stuck into some festive treats. From a Christmas pudding sundae to a gravy-layered sandwich, here are five delicious dishes at the top of our Christmas wish list.
Starbucks ‘The One with the Gravy Layer Sandwich’
It goes without saying that a gingerbread latte is the perfect winter pick-me-up, but we’re also ogling Starbucks’ ‘The One with the Gravy Layer Sandwich.’ Tuck into pulled ham, turkey, sweet gravy, smoky butternut crush, Cheddar and red cabbage in Sourdough bread. Gravy on a sandwich = game changing.
Bill’s Festive Feast Burger
Forget about the turkey and tuck into Bill's ‘Festive Feast Burger’, one of the options on Bill’s new festive party menu. We can’t wait to polish off this succulent beef burger with bacon, Stilton & red onion smothered with sage & onion mayo, served with rosemary salted fries.
TGI Fridays’ Christmas Pudding Sundae
Fridays also has a mouthwatering three course festive menu, featuring delectable bowls of Pigs in Blankets and a tempting Festive Burger. The Christmas Pudding Sundae is the star of the menu for us; layers of warm Christmas pudding, lashings of brandy cream, whipped cream and real dairy ice cream made boozy with St-Remy XO. Ho ho ho!
Pret a Manger’s Vegan Christmas Nut Roast sandwich
This season we’ll be grabbing the Vegan Christmas Nut Roast sandwich to fuel our Christmas shopping: roasted butternut squash, peppery rocket and Christmas pesto made with pine nuts, chestnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, parsley & rosemary. Served with a spoonful of vegan sage mayo, crispy onions and caramelised pecans. You'll find Pret in Selfridges.
Greggs Festive Bake
We couldn’t do a top five without including this iconic delicacy, could we? The Greggs Festive Bake combines succulent pieces of chicken breast, sage & onion stuffing and sweetcure bacon in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce. All encased in golden puff pastry with a crunchy crumb topping. Christmas in a pasty!
